NOTE: Please don’t contact me for sales engagements. I will not respond. I only have so much time in the day.

tl;dr: I fight entropy for a living.

I’ve done almost everything under the sun from Windows & Linux desktop consulting / help desk, Cisco network administration, to Windows & Linux Systems Administration, Software Development, and now DevOps Engineering. My main passions currently are coding, Linux, and networking. I don’t really fit well into either the Developer, or Ops category. I prefer to be a hybrid engineer type. Thankfully the new wave of IT with DevOps and the Cloud helps people like me thrive.

In recent years I’ve spent my time working heavily in Linux and the Big Data / Data Engineering space, and after a few years of working with Hadoop, I’ve moved on to specializing in Apache Kafka. I generally fall in love with any Apache product. If it involves distributed computing and Linux, I’m hooked. As I work in these environments, I try to put on my Developer hat as much as possible and build tooling around it all, and help manage other internally built applications and tools. As for languages, Bash, Python, and Ruby are my main jam, but recently I’ve dived much deeper into Java.

Outside of work, I’m a husband, father, musician, and I like to tinker with software, hardware, and cars.

I live and breathe tech, and I’m excited to see where it takes humanity in the coming years, and I definitely want to be part of it.
